A three-time Grand Slam Quarterfinalist, Tomljanović will compete in the 2025 ATX Open
AUSTIN, Texas – Ajla Tomljanović, a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist—who is a fan favorite of Netflix’s Break Point—has officially added the ATX Open to her 2025 schedule, joining Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys as the third player set to make her ATX Open debut in February 2025.
Born in Croatia, Tomljanović, who plays under the Australian flag, is a 5-time finalist on the Hologic WTA Tour. In 2022, she garnered significant attention by reaching the quarterfinals at both Wimbledon and the US Open, achieving a career-high end-of-season ranking of World No. 33.
After battling multiple injuries throughout 2023 and early 2024, Tomljanović made a remarkable comeback this October, capturing her second-career WTA 125 title in Hong Kong and re-entering the top 100 of the PIF WTA World Rankings.
Tomljanović, Pegula, and Keys will headline the 32-player singles field at the Hologic WTA Tour tournament set for February 22-March 2 at Austin’s Westwood Country Club.
In announcing her 2025 ATX Open commitment, Tomljanović said, “It is an honor to be involved in a tournament that has become a player favorite. And to be able to play in Austin, one of the cities I most love, makes it even more special. I can’t wait to hit the courts there early next year.”
ATX Open Tournament Director Christo Van Rensburg added, “Ajla has captured the tennis-loving world’s attention. She is a fierce competitor and a student of the game. She brings joy to the court and her dynamic playing style is going to win over a lot of fans at the ATX Open. She has made it clear how much she loves Austin, and we are thrilled to welcome her participation in one of our city’s greatest sporting events.”
