A pair of players with local ties have intriguing partnerships for the ATX Open doubles draw.

Former University of Texas standout Peyton Stearns is teamed up with former US Open singles champion Sloane Stephens while Fernanda Contreras, who won a state championship at Westlake High School, is paired with Danielle Collins, an American who has reached the Top 10 in singles.

The top seeds in the doubles draw own a combined 15 WTA titles. Oksana Kalashnikova, winner of six titles, and Nadiia Kichenok, a nine-time champion, are teaming up for the fifth time in their careers and first time since Seoul in 2022.

Stearns is not the only Longhorn connection to the doubles field. Current UT junior Sabina Zeynalova is partnering with her future teammate, Maya Joint.

Doubles play will begin Monday.
