Conversations with Kondo: Episode 4, Peyton Stearns

The latest video series from the ATX Open, Convos with Kondo, provides unique insight into the ATX Open and the tournament’s competing players. In Episode 4, tournament emcee Kondo Simfukwe speaks with Longhorn legend and 2023 WTA Tour Newcomer of the Year Nominee, Peyton Stearns.

Stearns will be returning to Austin to play in her second-consecutive ATX Open. In 2023, she recorded her first career WTA match win at the inaugural Austin stop and also advanced to the quarterfinals. She holds five career ITF titles, including Austin’s DropShot Series event in 2022. At the University of Texas-Austin, Stearns won back-to-back NCAA team titles, plus a singles crown in 2022.

Convos with Kondo will be a regular video series running through the 2024 tournament, featuring special guests and WTA players talking about their excitement and plans for the second-annual event.
