AUSTIN, Texas – The ATX Open has announced its first player commitment for 2025, World No. 6 Jessica Pegula. The American will headline the 32-player singles field at the Hologic WTA Tour tournament set for February 22-March 2 at Austin’s Westwood Country Club.

This American juggernaut is set to make her Austin tennis debut. A five-time WTA singles champion, Pegula promises to bring premier women’s tennis back to Austin for Year 3 of the ATX Open. Since June 2022, she has held a top 10 position in the PIF WTA Rankings. Pegula boasts one of the longest active top 10 world ranking streaks on tour.

Just last month, she was victorious in Berlin, winning her first-ever grass court title. In 2023, she secured two titles in Seoul and Montreal, and emerged as a finalist at the WTA Finals in Cancun. Beyond her title in Berlin, so far in 2024, Pegula has made semifinal appearances in Adelaide, San Diego, and Charleston. She has reached the quarterfinals of all four Grand Slam events, reaching the final eight at a Major six times over the past three seasons.

Pegula is also one of the WTA’s leading doubles players. She reached the No. 1 doubles ranking in 2023 and has won seven doubles titles in her career.

In announcing her 2025 ATX Open commitment, Pegula said, “I’m so excited to play in Austin for the first time next year. I’ve heard amazing things about the ATX Open and its supportive fans from fellow players who’ve played the tournament. The city is world-class, and I look very forward to experiencing it!”

ATX Open Tournament Director Christo van Rensburg added, “Jessica is one of the most exciting players in the women’s game today. Since we launched the ATX Open in 2023, we have had the privilege of hosting many of the world’s best singles and doubles competitors. She’s one of the world’s most talented players, and our first Top 10 commitment for the 2025 ATX Open. There’s no doubt that Jessica’s debut will only add to the growing lore of our tournament. Tennis fans here will be delighted to welcome another one of tennis’s top stars. We can’t wait to host her in Austin for the first time.”

Later this month, Pegula will compete in singles and doubles at the Paris Olympic Games as a member of Team USA.
