AMERICAN STARS JESSICA PEGULA AND PEYTON STEARNS HEADLINE 2025 ATX OPEN FIELD AND DEFENDING CHAMP YUAN YUE RETURNS, JOINED BY MULTIPLE ATX OPEN FAN FAVORITES

AUSTIN, Texas – The initial entry list for the 2025 ATX Open has been released, with at least two dozen of the world’s Top 100 players set to compete at Westwood Country Club from Feb. 22 – March 2.

The field includes numerous American stars and ATX Open fan favorites, including—World No. 6 Jessica Pegula, a singles Grand Slam finalist at the 2024 US Open and a finalist at the 2023 WTA Finals. She will be joined by former NCAA tournament champion and decorated Texas Longhorn Peyton Stearns, ranked as one of the Top 50 players in the world. Also headlining the field will be defending 2024 ATX Open Champ Yuan Yue, and returning ATX Open alums, Americans Katie Volynets and Taylor Townsend. Runner-up of the inaugural ATX Open in 2023, Varvara Gracheva of France, will also make her return to the courts of Westwood this year.

There are also some exceptionally talented Wild Card participants in this year’s field. Ajla Tomljanović of Australia, a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist, and fan favorite of Netflix’s Break Point, will be making her ATX Open debut. After battling multiple injuries throughout 2023 and early 2024, Tomljanović made a remarkable comeback this past October, capturing her second-career WTA 125 title in Hong Kong. American Elizabeth Mandlik, daughter of four-time Grand Slam champion Hana Mandlíková, will return for her second ATX Open after receiving a wildcard in 2023. Joining her in the field will be University of Texas standout, Malaika Rapolu of the United States, who made her way into the ATX Open by capturing the 2024 H-E-B WomenPro Tennis Open in Austin this past November, which brings with it an automatic Wild Card entry.

“Year 3 of Hologic WTA Tour action in Austin next month is going to be a special one for our growing ATX Open fanbase,” said Tournament Director Christo Van Rensburg. “The last two years of women’s tennis at Westwood Country Club have produced highlight-reel material and memorable finals match-ups. There will be tremendous competition throughout this year’s tournament. We’re particularly delighted to have many fan favorites returning this year. For both players and fans, the word is out on the ATX Open: it’s not one to miss.”
