Winner of the WTA 500 Guadalajara, Jovic was a semifinalist at the inaugural Austin125 and will make her ATX Open Debut in 2026.

AUSTIN, Texas – After a run to the semifinals of the AUSTIN125, Iva Jovic, the seventeen-year-old American tennis player and rising star, has committed to play her first-ever ATX Open. She will join fellow American and world #3 Jessica Pegula—the 2025 ATX Open champion—and Australian Ajla Tomljanović, a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist.

Pegula, Tomljanović, and Jovic will headline the 32-player singles field at the Hologic WTA Tour tournament set for February 21-March 1, 2026 at Austin’s Westwood Country Club.

Already ranked #35 in the world, Jovic is the youngest player in the WTA Top 100.

At last year’s US Open, she became the youngest woman to win a main draw match there in more than twenty years; in claiming her championship at the GDL Open in Guadalajara in September, Jovic joined a short list, becoming the youngest American woman to win a tour-level title since Coco Gauff did so at Parma in 2021; and earlier this year at Ilkley (UK), she made more history, winning a WTA 125 title at a never-before-seen age. Jovic has been rising fast through the ranks of women’s tennis.

Within a short period of reaching the third round at the 2022 Junior US Open, she played her first ITF tournament, where she made the final of the 15K Los Angeles. In 2023, she claimed her first ITF title at the 25K Reading. She has made her presence known in Grand Slam competition over the past year, reaching the 2nd Round of the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the US Open.

And she is already making a name for herself in Texas. Instead of playing another tournament-level event in Asia, Jovic opted to play the inaugural AUSTIN125, where she made her way into the semifinals. Thanks to her play, and work with Austin-area children at the tournament’s Kids’ Day event, she quickly established herself as a new fan favorite in The Lone Star State.

“I love the city of Austin. I had so much fun playing there earlier this month,” said Iva Jovic. “The fans were great, and it was such an amazing atmosphere. This past year on tour, I heard from some of my fellow players how much they enjoy playing in Austin and the ATX Open. I knew I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to join them. I can’t wait to come back to Austin and experience the ATX Open for the first time this February!”

“We are delighted to have Iva Jovic returning to Austin for more big-time tennis,” said Tournament Director Christo Van Rensburg. “After seeing her top-notch performance in Mexico in September, when she won her first WTA 500 title, she played her heart out at the AUSTIN125 and was not far off from making the final. The fans at Spanish Oaks were able to see what the excitement is about. Now, on a much larger stage, playing her first ATX Open at Westwood Country Club, Iva’s game is going to grab the attention of many more tennis fans. It’s going to be sensational watching her play at Westwood Country Club early next year.”
