AUSTIN, Texas – The DropShot Series is excited to welcome yet another top player to the fourth annual ATX Open, which will return to Austin’s Westwood Country Club, February 21 – March 1, 2026. McCartney Kessler is running it back at the 2026 ATX Open. After battling against the then-World No. 3 Jessica Pegula in the first All-American final in ATX Open history in March of last year, Kessler has announced her return to next month’s ATX Open at Westwood Country Club.

That match was the first WTA All-American final on U.S. soil since 2017.

In addition to that history-making, last year, Kessler made some history of her own. She became the first ATX Open player who has ever made the singles and doubles finals in the same year.

In committing to join Pegula, Stearns, Jovic, Tomljanović, and others at the 2026 ATX Open, McCartney Kessler remarked: “Returning to Austin for the ATX Open is something I’ve been looking forward to ever since playing there last year. To make the singles and doubles finals was a great thing for me. I really love playing that tournament and am grateful for the fan support. I am locked in and ready to get back to Westwood. There’s still a lot more for me to prove there. I can’t wait to hit the courts in Austin again to face off against some of the world’s best.”

As the largest women’s professional sporting event in Austin – and the only tour-level professional women’s tennis tournament held annually in Texas – the ATX Open has quickly established itself as one of the top 250-level women’s tournaments in the world.

Of Kessler and her return to the ATX Open, Tournament Director Christo van Rensburg had this to say: “McCartney is one of the most exciting and fiercely competitive players in the sport today. I think her career is just beginning to take off. As she showed in reaching both the singles and doubles finals in Austin last year, she can hang with anyone. Our fans loved the energy she brought to Center Court at Westwood, and we are very excited to welcome her back.”
